i don’t have too much to say today. haven’t had much to say these last few days, these last few weeks. the winter downs have really taken their toll on me this year. nothing going on, nothing to report. so i’ll start talking about the little things. the little things that maybe get you through these times as well.

watched the first episode of ‘Sherlock’ last night.

it’s the new sherlock holmes tv show set in modern day london. as a dyed in the wool sherlock holmes fan i was obviously a little skeptical, but this feeling was shortly put to rest as the humor and wit of the show won me over very quickly. there were a few points i didn’t like… for example mycroft, sherlock’s brother, was a thin man that was out and about throughout the episode, a distinct departure from the sedentary lifestyle he leads in the books, but those little changes are to be expected. like the nicotine patches instead of a pipe. but all in all a very good show. i look forward to watching more episodes.

secondly, i haven’t been this excited about the cavs since that fateful dy in june when ‘he who shall not be named’ took his talents to south beach. i love seeing baron davis in a cavs uniform. the alley-oop he threw to jj hickson on his very first play as a cav had me off the couch for the first time this season. i am also looking forward to more episodes of this show.

third, and lastly, another installment of LUMP, the every second saturday poetry and performance art show at the literary cafe is coming up this saturday. click on the link for directions and details. also see the facebook page here.

i guess that’s it for now. i’m going to start updating this thing often regardless of the doldrums., so check back. and email me if you have a question. eric@ericalleman.com

i’m getting everything ready for a trip into youngstown to prepare for the art opening on the 28th. the gallery show is at the oakland theater in downtown youngstown and jacob and the wonderful people at the lemon grove are helping me with, well alot of aspects of the show, for which i am very grateful. plus i get to go to youngstown and hang out with jacob for the day. hopefully the weather co-operates.

hello.

well, slow day at home today. went out and tried making a snowman with the girls but the snow was a dry snow. alas. just gives us a reason to try again after the next snow.

there is something going on tomorrow night at the literary cafe in tremont (http://literarycafe.net/) that i’ll be reading at with a bunch of my friends. it’ll be a reunion of sorts for the now defunct ‘thursday poetry reading’ that the lit used to hold. for more info you can go here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=185947904753641

hopefully i’ll see you there.
